Short Film
A beautiful and evocative film about the remarkable transformation of a group of illiterate women in southern Nepal. Working with Heifer International, an aid organization that promotes sustainable development through gifts of livestock, the women are now helping hundreds of other women and their families rise out of poverty and illuminates the idea that you can bring an entire village out of poverty by first empowering its women to be self-sufficient.
Short Film
70 x 7: The Forgiveness Equation tells uncommon and compelling stories that challenge our rock-hard beliefs in revenge, retribution and forgiveness.
Two sisters lose their parents to brutal murder; their struggle to forgive or condemn rips apart a life-long bond. A father witnesses his daughter’s slaughter in a monumental terrorist attack; his bold and unorthodox connection to the killer’s family becomes his salvation. Can we forgive what he cannot forget? The forgiveness equation tests us all.
Short Film
Legend has it that Buyeo County in Korea was the birthplace of the imported culture of papermaking, pottery, laquer-ware and music and dance in Koshinomiyako, Japan. That tradition and culture built up throughout the 1500 years of the region’s history and is deeply rooted in Koshinomiyako. Through the eyes of Japanese and Korean children, the film shares this history and asks the viewer to consider what peace means to them.
Short Film

To do that, they have to challenge cultural traditions and graduate from high school, something all but impossible for most African girls.

“Africa’s Daughters” captures their inspiring journey.
Documentary
For every artist, the need to create and be heard is as basic as food and shelter. But what happens when you live in a country where speaking your mind can land you in prison? In 1989, Alfredo Marquez used an image of Mao in an artwork. He was sentenced to 20 years in prison. For every artist, the need to create and be heard is as basic as food and shelter. But what happens when you live in a country where the state clamps down on free thinkers, forcing artists to censure themselves? Four Peruvian visual artists, including Alfredo, defy this tyranny through their work and ignite change, challenging ordinary people to speak out. These struggles and commitments raise the question: Is freedom of expression a right or a privilege?
Documentary
Yishai Orian, the director of the movie and the owner of an old Volkswagen beetle is about to become a father. His mechanic says that the car will not last long, while his wife complains that the car is unsuitable for a baby. Attempting to keep his beloved car, Yishai goes on a journey that begins with the previous owners of the beetle, continues to Jordan to renovate the old car, and ends with the birth of his first child.
The exciting, funny, sad, and intimate memories of the beetle’s previous owners blend with the director’s personal story.
Documentary
Belarus has been called “Europe’s last dictatorship.” Since 1994, Alexander Lukashenko has ruled the ex-Soviet republic with a despotic hand, jailing the opposition, shutting down the press and refusing to investigate the assassinations of dissidents. He has virtually silenced his critics – but not one lone performance artist who stages public stunts mocking the dictator’s pretentions. Belarusian Waltz is the story of Alexander Pushkin, whose audacious, comical exploits find him facing the hostility of the police and the consternation of his family. An offbeat tale of post-modern street theater meeting 1930s-style authoritarianism, the film offers a surprising window into the soul of the Belarusian people.
Documentary

Achamdi, the palm oil farmer is ready to set fire to his land to plant more palm oil, and Lone’s orangutan centre has reached crisis point with over 600 orangutans rescued from the fires... THE BURNING SEASON is an eco-thriller about a young man not afraid to confront the biggest challenge of our time,

Captain Abu Raed is a universal story of friendship, inspiration and heroism set in contemporary Jordan. Abu Raed is a lonely janitor at Amman International Airport. Never having realized his dreams of seeing the world, he experiences it vicariously through books and brief encounters with travelers and befriends a woman pilot who has to deal with the pressures of life in modern Amman. When he wears a discarded pilot’s hat home, local kids ask to hear stories of the world beyond their horizon. He becomes an influence in their young lives – except for one angry boy who seeks to prove that Abu Raed is a fake. This is the story of everyday people intersecting across social boundaries; a story of dreams, friendship, forgiveness and sacrifice.
