Where the idea came from...
During Slobodan Milosovic's trial at the Hague we became intrigued with the various personal accounts of soldiers and their experiences during the war in the former Yugoslavia. But more than just what they did - the crimes, killings, genocide of fellow country people - what struck us most was their justifications. It was through reading and re-reading many of these testimonies that led to the story and emotion behind The Kolaborator.

As a production company, out of exile films LLC aims to expose powerful ideas and exceptional individuals and bring their stories “out of exile”. The company strives to shed light on matters that most of us have the luxury to ignore and to promote empathy for people with plights that don’t seep into our day-to-day lives.
